CLARIN-LV introduces Latvian university lecturers to the Digital Humanities Course Registry
December 18, 2025
On December 12, CLARIN-LV organized a tutorial on how to register courses in the European Digital Humanities Course Registry (DH Course Registry, DHCR). The seminar attracted participants from the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University, RTU Rēzekne, and Ventspils University of Applied Sciences. During the tutorial, participants were introduced to the DHCR and acquired practical skills for registering courses. During and after the seminar, five new courses from Latvia were registered in the DH Course Registry. Most of these courses were developed within the Language Technology Initiative project. The seminar slides in Latvian are published on the CLARIN-LV website, allowing for the continuation and further uptake of this initiative.
The DH Course Registry is a joint effort of two European research infrastructures—CLARIN-ERIC and DARIAH-EU —aimed at providing up-to-date information on digital humanities teaching and training opportunities worldwide and helping students find programs that best suit their needs. Students, teachers, and researchers can search the registry by discipline, geographical location, ECTS credits, or awarded academic degrees. In addition, courses can be browsed using TaDiRAH, a Taxonomy of Digital Research Activities in the Humanities and sub-disciplines from the social sciences and the humanities. A video tutorial is also available, demonstrating how to browse and search the DH Course Registry.
