As part of the European Researchers' Night, visitors at the laboratories of the National Institute of Research and Innovation (NIRI) had the opportunity to gain practical insights into the operations of biobanks and their role in modern science.

During the event, researchers shared a glimpse into the daily life of the laboratory, explaining what biobanks are and why they are vital for future medical research. Attendees learned how the storage of biological samples helps scientists develop new research approaches.

Significant attention was given to DNA research—visitors were introduced to the fundamental principles of DNA, and the extraction process was demonstrated. Additionally, attendees were familiarized with the modern laboratory equipment necessary for the precise and safe processing and storage of biological material.
