EATRIS Training Resources
December 17, 2025
The Training Resources section brings together a wide range of practical, open-access resources and guidelines that are useful for researchers, academics, industry representatives, and other professionals working in the field of translational medicine. It complements the courses and training programmes of the Transmed Academy with examples, tools, and materials that can be used in research, education, and project planning. These resources are applicable both during the development of training and projects and in the implementation of translational research - from theory to practical execution.
The Training Resources section includes guideline documents as well as various digital tools and platforms that support translational research. Professional guidelines help users navigate specific areas of translational medicine, for example:
- The Assay Guidance Manual (AGM) - an e-book outlining good practice principles for the development of laboratory assays, particularly useful in the early-stage development of medicines and diagnostic tests.
The Training Resources section also features several online platforms and tools that can support both scientific research and training activities:
- Multi-omics Toolbox (MOTBX) - open-access resources on multi-omics data analysis, quality assurance, and FAIR data management.
- Patient Engagement Resource Centre (PERC) - a platform offering guidelines and tools for patient engagement in research, particularly useful for projects involving patient partnerships.
- Biomarker Commercialization Toolset - a set of tools for biomarker commercialization, including handbooks and commercialization and regulatory roadmaps.
- Innovation Management Toolbox - a resource providing practical self-help tools for managing innovative projects, including translational projects in rare diseases.
- Interactive Translation Roadmap an interactive tool that visually presents the translational medicine process and its main barriers, helping users to understand this pathway in a broader context.
- Characteristics of a Translational Scientist - an infographic outlining seven core characteristics that define successful translational scientists.
