Education and Training at EATRIS
December 17, 2025
For academics, researchers, industry representatives, early-career researchers (PhD students and postdoctoral fellows), and other stakeholders working in or interested in translational medicine, EATRIS offers a wide range of education and training opportunities. These include the delivery of training, diverse learning resources, and support through a network of trainers and educational initiatives.
This section is particularly useful for:
- training providers seeking methodological support, training materials, or assistance in organising training activities;
- knowledge users wishing to enhance their skills in specific aspects of translational medicine;
- project developers who need support in developing training ideas and creating sustainable training packages within European funding programmes such as ERASMUS+ or the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).
The EATRIS education and training offer is structured into three main sections:
Transmed Academy, Collaborate with Us, and Training News.
Transmed Academy
The Transmed Academy (https://eatris.eu/training/transmed-academy/) is an open training platform developed by EATRIS and accessible to everyone. It offers self-paced and online courses, workshops, recorded webinar sessions, guidelines, educational games, and other learning materials. Some of the content is available free of charge and without registration, while other courses require user registration.
Among the available courses are Introduction to Translational Medicine, which provides an introduction to translational science and medicine; Regulatory Aspects of Vaccine Development, focusing on regulatory issues in vaccine development; Cell & Gene Therapy (ATMP) Development, dedicated to the development of cell and gene therapies; and Personalised Medicines - PERMIT Overview, which introduces the basic principles of personalised medicine.
In addition, longer and more intensive training courses and summer schools on the translational medicine process are available, such as the four-day TMex – Translational Medicine Explained course, which also includes practical learning activities.
Collaborate with Us
The Collaborate with Us section - invites collaboration in the above-mentioned education and training contexts, without limiting ideas and cooperation opportunities to standard solutions. It is also open to non-standard situations, new training formats, innovative approaches, and individual needs, offering a platform for dialogue and the joint development of solutions in translational medicine. EATRIS provides a collaboration network, training organisation, and support for the implementation of various projects.
Training News
The Training News section provides up-to-date information on the latest courses, sessions, workshops, and other educational events in translational science and medicine. It helps users stay informed about new learning opportunities, plan their individual learning pathways, and gain insight into international educational activities in translational research.
Examples include news and reports on recently held courses, such as TMEX 2025, which took place in Barcelona and brought together participants from various sectors, as well as information on new educational tools, such as a board game on the development pathway of ATMPs (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products), designed to help better understand the complex process of advanced therapy development.
The EATRIS Education & Training resource provides access to training courses, online platforms, webinars, and other educational opportunities covering the translational medicine pathway from theory to practical implementation, and encourages active use of these opportunities.
