International Conference "Scientific Readings for Young Historians"

Valmiera Museum and the Institute of Latvian History of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia invite you to apply for the international conference "Scientific Readings of Young Historians XI" , which will be held on December 5–6, 2025, in person at the Valmiera Museum. This year, in addition to the traditional program, networking and professional development activities are also planned. Valmiera Museum and the Institute of Latvian History at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Latvia, invite you to apply for the international conference "Scientific Readings of Young Historians XI," which will be held in person at the Valmiera Museum on 5–6 December 2025. This year, in addition to the traditional programme, networking and professional development activities are also planned.

Application for the conference is open until October 1 by filling out a questionnaire.

Accommodation will be available for participants who will come to both days of the conference. Participants of the "Scientific Readings of Young Historians XI" will receive a notification about the inclusion of their paper by October 31, 2025. Participants who wish to publish their paper in the collection will have to submit it in early 2026.

The conference will be held at the Valmiera Museum for the eleventh time. "Scientific Readings of Young Historians XI" is a platform for young historians who are still developing their academic careers. Researchers who have recently obtained an academic degree can present their research results to the public through the "Scientific Readings of Young Historians XI", speaking at a conference and later publishing them in the conference proceedings.

The conference is organised by the Valmiera Museum and the Faculty of History of the University of Latvia, in cooperation with international partners – Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, the Institute of Lithuanian History and the Institute of History and Archaeology of the University of Tartu.
