LNB's 105th birthday and the 10th anniversary of the Castle of Light building

The library is as diverse as its guests! The National Library of Latvia (LNB) invites you to a birthday party on August 31 from 11.00 a.m. Activities for families, discussions about architecture and music recordings, a tape loop workshop and a visit to the science exhibition will await all those interested.

11.00–12.30 Family morning: stations for learning Latvian children's magazines

12.00 Insight and tour of the exhibition "CERN portal"

13.00 Talk "The building of the National Library - Riga placemark and cultural place"

14.00 Opening of the exhibition "Architect Gunārs Birkerts - Years of Italy".

14.00 Cassette loops workshop with artist and musician Kaspars Groševs

15.00 Discussion "Rebirth of (Un)convenient Carriers"

During the celebration, the library's reading rooms, exhibitions and selections of the collection will be open to visitors, and the library's 11th floor will also be accessible. Let's celebrate together!

Admission to all events is free.
