The nature house has four years - there will be activities throughout the day

Liepaja Municipal Education Department Science and Education Innovation Center (ZIIC) Nature House will be four years old since the purposeful and gradual creation of authentic content in its infrastructure, which resulted in both interactive installations, especially in the small-scale nature research vessel "AkvaLab Liepāja", and in educational programs and events for learners and educators , city residents and guests.

Everyone is invited on August 27 from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. to celebrate a four years of operation by participating in the free activities of the festive event program.

Program activities of the event:

  • at 11.00–15.00 The exhibition of interactive installations of the Nature House is open to visitors.
  • at 11.00–15.00 Inspection of the Latvian Nature Foundation's traveling open-air exhibition "Lake Pape: from the Littorin Sea to the present day".
  • at 11.00–15.00 viewing of the children's exhibition "Insect impressions" of the YOU+STEACE art studio "Rivolet Art".
  • at 12.00–14.00 educational short-term trips in the Liepāja lake with the small-sized navigational vehicle of nature cognition research "AkvaLab Liepāja" in a limited number and on a "live" queue basis.
  • at 12.00–14.00 Big bubbles workshop. Against the background of free-flying bubbles, you will have the opportunity to create your own bubble blowing tool and join in a common bubble launch parade, as well as create a colorful bubble art piece with lake reeds.
  • at 15.30–16.00 Science theater performance "Frozen Garden". The show is based on the story of a gardener who enters his dream world to search for ways to fulfill his dream of a frozen garden through various natural science experiments. This is the only activity where pre-registration is required.

The YOU+STEACE art studio "Rivolet Art" exhibition "Insect Impressions", created by children under the guidance of artist Inese Pāvila, will be on display not only on the day of the Nature House holiday, but until September 27.

On the other hand, the Latvian Nature Foundation's traveling open-air exhibition "Lake Pape: from the Litorīna sea to today" will be on display until October 28. The exhibition tells about the origin of Lake Pape, its history, its relationship with people and surrounding communities over the years, its natural values ​​and its ecological condition. The exhibition was created by the experts of the Latvian Nature Foundation as part of the "LIFE GoodWater IP" project in cooperation with local regional researchers, and the author of its design is the artist Matīss Markovskis.
