The opening event of the book "Flirt With The Truth" by Mārcis Auziņš
About event
Mārcis Auziņš himself admits the title of the book "Flirts with the truth" to be somewhat provocative, but also apt, because really we tend to flirt with ideas in a very similar way to people: "Flirting is something that we very often associate with human relationships. Then, when we're flirting, it's usually a feeling, am I getting too close to that person, do I want to get that close at all? There's a whole range of feelings and a whole range of emotions with the truth, getting closer to the truth, trying to understand it, you can see something that even scares you at first. The range of emotions is very similar".
Professor Mārcis Aužinas has a special ability to present complex matters simply, comprehensibly and very excitingly. This is clearly confirmed by his popular scientific essays, which have been read in his science column on the LSM.lv portal for several years.
Mārcs Auziņas thinks that people often tend to ignore the natural sciences, because they associate them with something formal, dry and uninteresting. With his essays, he wants to dispel this attitude, on the contrary, showing how colorful and interesting they really are. He chooses to write about topics that are interesting and close to him at a given moment.
The book is like an exciting journey into the world of science, history of civilization and religion, and it is intended for all those who want to understand and explore the world more deeply.
A book for those who like to think deeply, explore and try to understand this world - this is what Juris Visockis, head of the "Jumava" publishing house, says about the publication: "This is a material where both physics and life are present. I would think that the title could just as well be "Flirting with clarity", because people expect very clear answers from politicians, from researchers every day".
