About event
On 15 September, everyone interested is invited to the presentation of the book British Statecraft and the Baltic Sea Region: A Documentary History and a discussion with its authors from the Cambridge Centre for Geopolitics.
The book’s authors, Hugo Bromley, a postdoctoral researcher at the Cambridge Centre for Geopolitics, and Brendan Simms, Professor of the History of International Relations at the University of Cambridge, examine Britain’s role in the Baltic Sea region based on historical documents and their analysis. The book traces Britain’s diplomatic, political, and commercial involvement in the region over more than 300 years, while also addressing the contemporary geopolitical situation and the importance of the Baltic region in British strategy.
During the event, the authors will present the book’s main ideas and discuss Britain’s historical and current role in the Baltic Sea region and its significance in the context of European security and geopolitics.
