RTU Invites Participants to Join International Hackathon for Innovative Microelectronics and Communication Technology Solutions

About event
Aspiring engineers and technology enthusiasts are invited to take part in the international hackathon "Small Components, Big Ideas: Hackathon for Tomorrow’s Electronics Solutions", aimed at developing new solutions in microelectronics and communication technologies.
The hackathon will take place from September 9 - 11 at the Science and Innovation Centre of Riga Technical University (RTU). Registration is open until August 20 by filling out the online application form.
Dedicated to addressing smart city challenges, the hackathon "Small Components, Big Ideas" will task participants with creating solutions that utilise microelectronics and IoT technologies to enhance mobility, energy management, and public safety.
Participants will have the opportunity to work hands-on with high-performance microelectronic solutions from STMicroelectronics, testing their skills on real-world challenges. Each team will be provided with the necessary equipment, while experienced mentors - both scientists and industry professionals - will support the prototyping process. An equally important benefit is the chance to expand professional networks by working directly with STMicroelectronics engineers and other industry experts who may become future internship or job providers.
After the hackathon, participants will receive an official certificate recognising the skills acquired, along with opportunities to continue their projects. The best teams will receive support to develop their prototypes further and will be invited to present their results at international events. This hackathon can serve not only as a technological sprint but also as a launchpad for professional growth and collaboration with global players in the electronics market.
The hackathon is organised by the Italian innovation company Paidea sas and the Italy-based manufacturer STMicroelectronics, in cooperation with RTU, under the project IPCEI ME/CT (Important Project of Common European Interest on Microelectronics & Communication Technologies).
