The RTU Science and Innovation Center invites you to a meeting of the agricultural and food startup community

On August 14, at 18.00–21.00 in «Startup House Riga», Lastādijas street 12-k-3, the meeting event of the community of agricultural and food startups «Tech for Food» will be held. The Science and Innovation Center of Riga Technical University (RTU) invites representatives of agricultural and food industry start-ups, budding entrepreneurs, as well as other industry enthusiasts, to jointly study the achievements and progress of the technological innovations of the industry in the Central and Eastern European region.

The agriculture and food sector plays a vital role in the economy of the countries of the Central and Eastern European region, and at the same time it faces both significant challenges and vast opportunities. In recent years, the region has seen a rapid increase in technological innovation that promises to improve efficiency, productivity and environmental sustainability throughout the agricultural and food value chain.

During the event, the technological innovation achievements of the sector will be studied, the founders of start-up companies in the sector will share their inspiring stories and discuss the attraction of funding in the agriculture and food sector, while Andrii Shekhirev, the founder of the "Biocatalyst" foundation, will focus more on biotechnology in the food sector.

Visitors to the event will also be able to meet in person the Latvian participants of the "Empowering Women in Agrifood" (EWA) business support program of the knowledge and innovation community "EIT Food" of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Two of the young entrepreneurs and program participants will present their business ideas and share their experiences of being a female entrepreneur in the agriculture and food industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about other "EIT Food" news and support opportunities for entrepreneurs.

At the end of the event, in an informal atmosphere, visitors will be able to use networking opportunities to establish contacts with innovators, industry experts and other agri-food technology enthusiasts.
