Science Café “Voluntary Mass Surveillance. What Is the Price of Modern Convenience?”

About event

Cameras in urban environments, social media, smart devices and digital services have become part of everyday life. But how much privacy are we willing to give up in the name of convenience? In the discussion, we will talk about data security, digital surveillance, public habits and the boundary between security, convenience and privacy in today’s digital environment. In the live recording of the technology programme and podcast “Digital Breakfast”, we will also address how consciously we ourselves share our data and how this affects our everyday lives.

Discussion moderated by:

  • Artis Ozoliņš, creator of the programme “Digital Breakfast” and event host
  • Aneta Gūtmane, AI Project Manager at RSU, creator of the Latvian Radio programme “Digital Breakfast”.

  • Kirils Solovjovs, Head of the IT security company “Possible Security”, cybersecurity researcher,
  • Gatis Ozols, Deputy State Secretary for Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development,
