Science communication beyond tomorrow IV
About event
Join us for Science communication beyond tomorrow IV on Tuesday 17 March 2026, in Brussels and online.
In this fourth edition of our forward-looking conference, we will explore how science communication can better serve policymaking in a changing society.
Through two focused panels, participants will first examine how societal shifts are reshaping future audiences for science, and then discuss how to make credible science visible, clear, and compelling amid today’s information noise — so that evidence can stand out and inform decisions.

Description
How can science communication better serve policymaking in the context of the far-reaching transformations our societies are undergoing, especially as it relates to the digital space and information overload? Experts and policymakers will discuss how our societies are changing, and in what new ways will people get informed? How will our audiences engage with evidence in this new environment? How can we ensure science remains visible, clear, and compelling amidst all the noise?
Started in 2023, this forward-looking conference series organised by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) has already been attended by more than a thousand participants, in-person and online. Over the years, it has become the forum for a wide-ranging network of communication specialists from across the European Commission and European institutions more widely, as well as independent science and policy communicators.
