Applications are now open until April 25 for the scientific conference "Young Researchers’ Day 2025," inviting doctoral students and PhD candidates in the humanities and social sciences to participate. The conference is organized by the Institute of Literature, Folklore, and Art of the University of Latvia (UL ILFA) in collaboration with the UL Doctoral School and the Latvian Association of Young Scientists.

Conference Goals The conference aims to foster academic networking among young researchers, encourage interdisciplinary research, and introduce a wider audience to the latest research trends in the humanities and social sciences.
Topics and Presentation Formats Participants can propose topics related to their PhD research, including methodology and research challenges, not only as academic reports but also as interdisciplinary presentations. The conference invites doctoral students and PhD candidates conducting research in the following fields:

- Gender Studies
- Philosophy
- Folkloristics
- Cultural Theory
- Movement Arts
- Literary Studies
- Art Theory
- Music
- Theatre and Film History & Theory
- Visual Arts
- Linguistics

- Environmental Humanities
The organizers also welcome research proposals on contemporary theories and methodologies, including feminism, queer theory, sexuality studies, posthumanism, affect theory, ecocriticism, new materialism, autoethnography, disability studies, and more.
Presentation Details Young researchers from universities in Latvia and abroad are encouraged to participate. Each individual presentation, including discussion time, will be 20 minutes long, with the presentation language of choice – Latvian or English.

About "Young Researchers’ Day" Organized annually by UL ILFA, this public conference marks the conclusion of the spring semester and gathers doctoral students and PhD candidates from Latvia and worldwide. Its mission is to support early-career researchers, foster their academic growth, and provide an opportunity for networking and collaboration across institutions.
