Seminar “Open Science and the Importance of Data Management Plans in Research”

We invite researchers, doctoral students and other interested participants to join a seminar on open science and the development of a Data Management Plan (DMP).

Objective: To introduce participants to the fundamental principles of open science and Data Management Plans, common mistakes, and examples of good practice.

Topics

  • Open science and its importance in the research process
  • Good practices in research data management
  • Data Management Plans: their role in research, key principles for preparation, and common mistakes
  • Support from data curators in research

Outcomes

After the seminar, participants will have gained an understanding of:

  • the fundamental principles of open science and their role in research;
  • the importance and structure of a DMP within the research process;
  • DMP requirements in research project programmes at the Latvian and European levels;
  • how to prepare a DMP while taking into account the specifics of the research.
