Seminar on Research Reproducibility

From September to March, the University of Latvia (UL) will host a series of seminars on various aspects of research reproducibility, factors that promote and hinder reproducibility, as well as opportunities to strengthen research reproducibility at UL.
The first seminar will focus on different understandings of reproducibility and its importance in research. The seminar series is organised within the Horizon Europe project TRUSTparency and will be led by researchers from the Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine of the University of Latvia: Signe Mežinska, Ivars Neiders, and Edvards Francis Kuks.
Reproducibility is one of the prerequisites for high-quality and reliable research; however, there are significant differences between various scientific fields and research contexts in how the importance of research reproducibility is understood and how it can be implemented in scientific work.
From September to March, a seminar series on various topics related to research reproducibility will take place at the University of Latvia within the Horizon Europe project TRUSTparency, including opportunities to promote research reproducibility at the University of Latvia.
The first seminar, which will focus on different understandings of reproducibility and its importance in research, will take place on 16 September from 15:00 to 16:30 at the UL House of Science, Jelgavas iela 3, Room 401. * TRUSTparency is a Horizon Europe project aimed at promoting research reproducibility by developing approaches and methods that help research organisations, funders, and publishers identify existing practices, resources, and needs, as well as implement and evaluate new solutions for improving reproducibility. Researchers from the UL Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine are developing training materials on various aspects of research reproducibility within the project, as well as helping to improve materials developed by other project partners.
