Sensory Installation "Tree of the Sun"
About event
Eighth digital culture festival "Digital November" presents the Sensory Installation "Tree of the Sun" at the French Institute in Latvia.
Created by the French studio ONYO, this work is a call to restore the connection with the living world and rediscover the beauty of nature. It is a sensory and interactive piece inspired by scientific and philosophical works, ancient fairy tales and legends, and, above all, the artists' own feelings about nature. Positioned between the viewers, between themselves and the artwork, or between themselves and nature, "Tree of the Sun" invites us to reflect on the coexistence of humans and nature. It offers a moment outside of time to live and rejuvenate our world.
"Tree of the Sun" is a crossroads of art, nature, and technology, and an adventure to be experienced.
Participants are first invited to sit around the artwork, connecting with it in the present moment. Sitting in a circle with their eyes closed and headphones on, the artwork’s dreamlike narration transports them to an enchanted forest in search of a thousand-year-old tree. This sensory journey, filled with interaction and feelings, is a quest for renewal. Upon awakening, participants are invited to a discussion to express and understand each other's emotions.
The "Tree of the Sun" installation will be available at the French Institute's Media Library from November 8 to 15, 2024. Each participant's session lasts 30 minutes, with no more than 12 people participating at a time. Prior registration is required, where you can choose a date and session before your booking is confirmed.
To adhere to safety regulations, if you wish to register multiple people with one email address, please register each person separately (One registration = one person).
Please note: The installation "Tree of the Sun" is available in French (or English), with a Latvian translation available upon request.
