“Let’s Talk About Biobanks?!” at the Conversation Festival LAMPA

As part of the Conversation Festival LAMPA, the science café “Let’s Talk About Biobanks?!” will take place, offering an opportunity to learn more about biobanks and their role in research, healthcare, and the development of public health in Latvia.

The discussion will explain why biobanks are an important part of modern medical and scientific infrastructure, how they help researchers better understand the mechanisms of disease development, support the creation of new diagnostic and treatment approaches, and strengthen the possibilities of personalized medicine.

The conversation will also focus on the future of biobanks in Latvia, the importance of public trust, data security, ethical research, and the sustainable development of biobanks.

We are pleased that NIRI representatives will also take part in this conversation. Vita Rovīte will lead the conversation, while Jānis Kloviņš will join the discussion together with other experts in the field, sharing a professional perspective on the role of biobanks in research and healthcare, as well as on the importance of public engagement and trust in the development of this infrastructure.
