At Researchers’ Night, visitors to the Dižstende Research Centre will be able to:

• explore the diversity of weeds found in soil samples collected from different locations;
• learn about various sources of organic fertilisers and their uses;
• find out how a sprayer works and why its correct adjustment is important;
• learn how grain is cleaned of weed seeds and other impurities;
• get acquainted with the equipment of the agrochemical laboratory;
• discover the cereal varieties that have been developed;
• explore the infrastructure of the research centre;
• relax in the relaxation corner.

Field of science: Natural sciences – biology (genetics, molecular biology, plant physiology); Agriculture – crop production, biotechnology, plant protection

Event time: 15:00–21:00 (at least 2 hours should be allowed to visit all stations)

How to get there: The event can be reached by private car or public transport. By bus from Talsi in the direction of Stende, travel to the “Selekcija” stop.

Accessibility: The 1st floor of the event venue is accessible to people with mobility impairments. A ramp is available at the main entrance.
