Energy is the foundation of everyday life – it influences how we live, move, work, and relax today. It is present almost everywhere and has become an integral part of our lives.
Since 1997, the Elektrum Energy Centre in Jūrmala has been an educational destination for families, school groups, and companies, helping people understand the world of energy in a simple and engaging way.
Researchers’ Night 2026 programme:
As part of Researchers’ Night 2026, the Elektrum Energy Centre invites children, young people, and families to discover the nature of science in the field of energy.
Visitors will be able to learn about professions in the energy sector, explore the journey of electricity from production to the end user, learn the basics of electrical safety, and take part in practical activities.
The event programme is designed to show how science and technology are connected to our everyday lives, as well as to inspire young people to take an interest in future education and career opportunities in STEM fields.
Visitors can look forward to hands-on activities, experiments, and opportunities to test their knowledge. A variety of interactive activities and educational tasks on energy and renewable energy sources will be available, as well as a photo stand.

Elektrum Energy Centre (formerly known as Elektrum Energy Efficiency Centre) is an education and competence centre established by AS "Latvenergo", which since 1997 has been promoting public understanding of climate change, sustainable production of renewable energy and smart and efficient use of energy resources.
