Elektrum Energy Center

Energy is the foundation of everyday life – it influences how we live, move, work, and relax today. It is present almost everywhere and has become an integral part of our lives.

Since 1997, the Elektrum Energy Centre in Jūrmala has been an educational destination for families, school groups, and companies, helping people understand the world of energy in a simple and engaging way.

Researchers’ Night 2026 programme:

As part of Researchers’ Night 2026, the Elektrum Energy Centre invites children, young people, and families to discover the nature of science in the field of energy.

Visitors will be able to learn about professions in the energy sector, explore the journey of electricity from production to the end user, learn the basics of electrical safety, and take part in practical activities.

The event programme is designed to show how science and technology are connected to our everyday lives, as well as to inspire young people to take an interest in future education and career opportunities in STEM fields.

Workshops and educational activities:
• “My Profession in the Energy Sector” – stories about the energy industry, professions, and the skills that will be needed in the future;
• Electrical Safety School in cooperation with AS “Sadales tīkls”;
• Practical energy workshop – building electrical circuits and conducting experiments with electricity;
• Visit to the Elektrum Energy Centre exhibition;
• Evening activities for families about energy, electricity, and the safe use of electrical appliances.
