Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre
About event
This year, the Scientists' Night will also feature a host of new, exciting activities in addition to the traditional educational activities. Anyone interested will have the opportunity to learn about the secrets of ancient DNA and try simple methods for isolating DNA from biological materials of their choice. Meanwhile, those who are interested in both biology and IT will have the opportunity to practically experience the role of a "dry lab" scientist and gain insight into the basic principles of big biology data analysis.
The event will also provide an opportunity to learn about research areas such as organs-on-chip, extracellular vesicles, and virus-like particles, as well as their applications in vaccine development. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Lyme disease researchers, as well as learn how plants communicate with each other and how molecular research of plant viruses takes place. Meanwhile, those who crave adrenaline will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive adventure - break out of the cell! The full program is on the BMC website in the "Education -> Scientists' Night" section.
