UL Institute of Philosophy and Sociology

About event
Description
Several events will be available at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia.
1. Discussion: "Those who rule the world meet in one room: a Jew, a Jesuit, a Freemason and an Opus Dei numerary"

Conspiracy and conspiracy theories are as old as humanity itself. People tend to mythologise, demonise and easily explain everything they do not know, do not understand or have never seen. What is not easy to understand, people often try to find easier answers to everything that is happening in the world, especially in times of turmoil and crisis. Complex events are reduced to the evil intentions of secret groups, which creates the illusion of clarity and control. Such opinions are used as tools to demonise people or groups. But ignorance also contributes to the spread of these delusions.

Representatives of Jewish, Jesuit, Masonic and Opus Dei communities will be invited to the discussion to share their experiences about the influence and presence of conspiracy theories in their activities.
