SHARE International Meeting Focuses on Reducing Attrition in Longitudinal Studies
April 28, 2026
From 21 to 24 April 2026, the SHARE Spring Meeting took place in Lausanne, Switzerland, bringing together researchers, national coordination teams, and project partners.
A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing the implementation of Wave 10. Participants were introduced to the report on the SHARE Wave 10 survey schedule and discussed organisational and technical aspects of data collection, as well as fieldwork progress.
One full day of the meeting was devoted to best practice examples and discussions on participant attrition and strategies to enhance participation in longitudinal studies. SHARE country teams shared their experiences, and participants also had the opportunity to learn from other international ageing studies, such as HRS (Health and Retirement Study) and ELSA (English Longitudinal Study of Ageing), including their approaches and solutions to addressing these challenges.
Access to SHARE data for scientific use is free of charge, in accordance with European Union and national data protection laws, as well as publicly available terms of use. More information about SHARE data collection in Latvia is available here. Follow project news and updates on the SHARE Latvia Facebook page.
