Signe Mežinska gave a presentation at the international symposium "Ethical, Legal, and Societal Aspects in View of Recent EU Legislation"

On October 22–23, Signe Mežinska participated in and presented at the international symposium “Ethical, Legal, and Societal Aspects in View of Recent EU Legislation”, held in Bilbao, Spain. BBMRI-ERIC organised the seminar in cooperation with leading Spanish universities and research institutions.
The event brought together experts from various countries to discuss:
- • the development of the European Health Data Space (EHDS),
- • the role of biobanks and innovations in data governance,
- • public engagement and trust in science,
- • ethical aspects of artificial intelligence in the biobanking context.

The cooperation between the BBMRI.LV partners is coordinated by the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre, which is implementing project No. 1.1.1.5/3/24/I/006 “Development of Latvia’s research potential by strengthening the integration of the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre into European infrastructures and scientific networks”. One of the project’s activities aims to achieve the performance indicators of the Latvian National Partnership Plan for the Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure (BBMRI-ERIC), where communication plays a significant role. Attendance at such symposia contributes to increasing the visibility of BBMRI.LV.
