Digitalisation and Connectivity Forum “Techritory 2026”

About event

Europe’s ability to control and protect its data, digital services and critical infrastructure has become an economic and security issue. Opportunities to strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty will be discussed on 21 and 22 October in Riga, at the “ATTA Centre” conference centre, by more than a thousand technology industry leaders, entrepreneurs, experts and policymakers who will gather at the ninth digitalisation and connectivity forum “Techritory 2026”.

The main theme of this year’s forum is “Security and Prosperity Through Digitalization and Connectivity”. European countries and companies still remain significantly dependent on technology platforms, cloud services and digital infrastructure developed outside Europe. Data, cloud services, artificial intelligence, connectivity and digital identity have simultaneously become infrastructure for the economy and national security. Therefore, digital sovereignty is no longer only a technology sector issue – it determines Europe’s ability to protect critical services, society and the economy, as well as to preserve freedom of action in crisis situations.

“Europe’s digital sovereignty means real control over critically important data and services. Global cloud services can be part of companies’ infrastructure, but alongside them there is a need for local or regional primary or backup infrastructure that is not only located in Europe, but is also owned by European companies. This reduces geopolitical risks, promotes transparency and preserves the ability to migrate between solutions. In Europe, including Latvia, we have the knowledge and capabilities to build high-level infrastructure ourselves for artificial intelligence and other business needs,” says Andris Gailītis, Chairman of the Board of “DELSKA”.

The forum programme will focus on the development of data centres across Europe, defence technologies, digital sovereignty and resilience, the future of European digital network regulation, satellite connectivity and cybersecurity. Separate discussions will also assess Latvia’s opportunities to increase exports of digital services and become a significant partner in Europe’s data, connectivity and security infrastructure.

The “Techritory 2026” forum will be attended by Prime Minister of Latvia Andris Kulbergs, OECD Deputy Secretary-General Yasushi Masaki, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Deputy Secretary-General Tomas Lamanauskas, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of Moldova Michelle Iliev, Chairman of the Board of “DELSKA” Andris Gailītis, President of LMT Group Juris Binde, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Baiba Braže, Minister of Smart Administration and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Tavars, and other high-level representatives of the public and private sectors.

Participation in the forum will be free of charge. The working language of the forum is English, and prior registration is required at techritory.com.
