Doctoral Students’ Afternoon: “The Role of a Data Curator in Doctoral Studies"

About event

RSU invites doctoral students and other interested parties to participate in the Doctoral Students’ Afternoon. The event aims to give doctoral students the opportunity to learn about aspects of research data management that should be considered from the early stages of research, common mistakes, and situations where timely collaboration with data curators is particularly important. Participants will also have the chance to meet doctoral students from RSU and other Latvian universities.

Attendees will be able to reflect on their own challenges related to research data and learn about the support offered by the RSU Data Curator Unit at various stages of their studies. Erasmus MC University Medical Center Rotterdam doctoral student Daina Kosīte will also share her experience of working with data curators during her doctoral studies, highlighting both successful solutions and challenges. Daina currently works as a data curator and knowledge transfer manager at the Higher Education and Science IT Shared Services Centre (VPC), which actively promotes open science and the development of research data management in Latvian scientific institutions.
