Industry Day and Sensing the Future

Face-to-face event
About event

On 24 September, the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL), and the University of Latvia (UL) will bring together researchers, technology developers, industry representatives, and innovators at the Industry Day and Sensing the Future events. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the latest technologies, engage in discussions with industry representatives, visit laboratories, and establish new cooperation contacts.

The day will consist of two complementary parts:

Morning programme – SWEB and FeLow-D Industry Day (venue: ISSP UL, Ķengaraga iela 8, Riga)

This part brings research closer to industry through technology demonstrations, industry feedback and discussions, as well as laboratory visits. Researchers and industry partners from the SWEB and FeLow-D projects will present promising technologies in areas such as functional coatings, smart windows, additive manufacturing, sensors, biomedicine, energy harvesting, and water purification.

Afternoon programme – Sensing the Future (venue: UL House of Science, Jelgavas iela 3, Riga)

Organised within BioPhoT, the programme offers an opportunity to explore technologies shaping the future of energy, communications, and advanced manufacturing. A discussion with Prof. Koen Bertels on quantum computing and DNA data storage is planned, along with presentations of various technologies and the 40-Second Matchmaker – a dynamic networking session for building new contacts and cooperation opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity to meet in one place people who are developing technologies, seeking applications for them, or looking to get involved in creating new solutions.
