diaspora international collaboration

Latvian researchers living and working around the world are invited to join the researchLatvia Diaspora Scientists Database – a virtual platform that helps find cooperation partners, share experiences, and develop new projects together with colleagues from Latvia and abroad.

The science communication portal and brand researchLatvia was created and is maintained by the Ministry of Education and Science. The aim of the initiative is to promote the visibility of Latvian science and foster international cooperation. researchLatvia builds links between scientists in Latvia and compatriots living abroad, as well as between researchers and industry representatives, facilitating knowledge transfer, the development of innovation, and the creation of joint solutions.

By registering in the Diaspora Scientists Database, it is possible to:

  • establish professional contacts with colleagues in Latvia and worldwide;
  • learn about the latest developments in Latvian science, as well as collaboration and funding opportunities;
  • participate in joint projects and research initiatives;
  • engage in Latvia’s scientific community both online and in person – at conferences, expert evaluations, publications, or as guest lecturers.

Diaspora researchers can become initiators of ideas and strengthen the link between Latvian and international research environments. Researchers’ experience, involvement in research projects and partnerships, as well as their willingness to share resources and ideas, is a significant asset to both Latvian and diaspora science.”
