On 26 September, more than 30 venues across Latvia will host Researchers’ Night 2025 activities, offering an opportunity to discover science in an engaging and accessible way. This year’s theme is “Uncover the researcher gene within you!”, inviting every visitor to awaken their curiosity, explore the world of science, and take part in creative activities.

The free events will provide insights into the fields of society and culture, as well as natural sciences and engineering, making them exciting for the whole family.

A wide range of activities will take place across Latvia, including in Rīga, Jelgava, Ventspils, Valmiera, Rēzekne, Cēsis, Liepāja, Daugavpils, and other cities. Visitors will have the chance to become researchers for one evening – to experiment, listen to personal stories, ask questions, look inside laboratories, meet scientists in person, and join various workshops and other activities.

To make it easier to find activities of interest, the Ministry of Education and Science has compiled all this year’s Researchers’ Night events and programmes on the science platform researchLatvia.

All events can be found in one place on an interactive digital map: https://www.researchlatvia.gov.lv/en/science-night

The aim of the diverse programme is to broaden public perspectives, to highlight science as an integral part of everyday life, and to foster interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education, especially among young people, by emphasising the importance of research in future career choices.
