The Latvian Science Council will launch a new video story series, "Science and Your Life," in the fall of 2025, showcasing how science enhances our everyday lives in areas such as language, health, safety, work, and well-being.

In the fall of 2024, we implemented the first such campaign, and part of it was video stories in which TV personality Gustavs Terzens visited the authors and researchers of four projects and revealed the work of the researchers. These video stories can be seen here:

This time, we are looking for a curious child aged 7 to 11 who, together with TV personality Gustavs Terzens, will visit scientists, ask questions and help reveal their work in a way that is understandable and exciting to everyone.

Who can apply?
  • A child who is fascinated by experiments, discoveries and the question "how does it work?".
  • A child who feels comfortable in front of the camera and wants to share their curiosity.
  • The child's parents or legal guardians must agree to participate and sign a written consent form.
About the filming:
  • Filming will take place in September 2025 (6 filming afternoons are planned, 2-3 hours each).
  • We will adjust the filming to the school schedule so as not to interfere with learning.
  • Each video will be coordinated with parents/guardians before publication.
What will you get?
  • An exciting experience together with a TV personality and scientists.
  • An opportunity to look into laboratories and see how discoveries are made.
  • An official certificate of participation in the video series from the Latvian Science Council (useful in the future, for example, when applying to school or competitions).
  • New knowledge and the opportunity to share your curiosity with other children in Latvia.
Important information for parents:
  • Participation is voluntary and no financial compensation is paid for it.
  • The child's participation will be documented as volunteer work in an educational campaign.
  • The child's personal data (image, voice, name, video recordings) will be used only in the communication of the Latvian Science Council and cooperating institutions (social networks, website, information materials).
  • These materials will not be transferred to third parties outside the implementation of the campaign.
  • Before participating, a written consent form for the child's participation and use of data will have to be signed.
How to apply?
Fill out the APPLICATION by September 1, 2025:

Indicate in the application:

  • child's first and last name,
  • parent/guardian's contact information,
  • if you have previous experience in video (for example, on social networks), add an example.

Inspire others with your curiosity!
