Doctoral thesis topic "exchange"

Face-to-face event
About event

On 20 May from 16:00 to 18:30, a doctoral thesis topic “exchange” will take place at the University of Latvia (UL) Doctoral School at Kalpaka Boulevard 4, in the Sapere Aude hall. The event will bring together prospective doctoral students, researchers, industry representatives, and public administration experts in one place, in order to provide potential doctoral students with support in navigating research directions and topics, understanding the preparation of project applications, and establishing contacts with potential cooperation partners.

The event is particularly suitable for those who are still searching for their doctoral thesis topic or wish to strengthen the link between academic research and its practical application.

The programme will be opened by researchers’ presentations on the development of project applications in various fields, providing practical insight into opportunities and the most common mistakes.

This will be followed by a dynamic doctoral thesis topic “exchange” – short presentations or “pitches”, in which UL researchers, industry representatives, and experts from the State Chancellery will introduce current research topics. Participants will learn about industry challenges that require scientific solutions, opportunities to engage in research projects and groups, as well as career opportunities during and after doctoral studies. Register for the event.

Information on admission to doctoral studies and the research application form are available on the website of the UL Doctoral School.

The establishment of the UL Doctoral School is one of the activities in the Recovery and Resilience Facility project “Internal and External Consolidation of the University of Latvia” (No. 5.2.1.1.i.0/2/24/I/CFLA/007), implemented by the University of Latvia and the BA School of Business and Finance, continuing the development of doctoral studies at the University of Latvia initiated within the European Social Fund project “Strengthening the Doctoral Capacity of UL within the New Doctoral Model” (No. 8.2.2.0/20/I/006).
