Riga Technical University invites visitors to explore science and technology during the Riga City Festival

At the Riga Left Bank Festival, which will take place on 1 August, Riga Technical University (RTU) will invite visitors of all ages to Uzvaras Park to take part in a variety of educational and practical activities that will offer an exciting and interactive introduction to science, technology, and engineering.

From 12.00 to 16.00, the RTU Children and Youth University will offer visitors the opportunity to learn about maritime safety, take part in an electronics workshop and watch demonstrations, try an innovation workshop for children, and build electrical circuits.

Meanwhile, the RTU Curiosity Centre “Futurimo Rīga” will invite visitors to a rocket workshop and an impressive chemistry show, where science experiments will amaze both children and adults.

From 12.00 to 20.00, the RTU Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering will offer an extensive programme of activities. Visitors will be able to try drone simulators and watch flight demonstrations, learn about research on advanced road construction technologies carried out in the RTU and Swiss project “LACHMAT”, as well as education and career opportunities in the sector, virtually explore the RTU student campus using 3D technologies, measure themselves using geomatics equipment, and try an exciting board game.

The RTU Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, in turn, will invite visitors to make paper wind turbines, solve chemistry puzzles, and take part in exciting chemistry experiments.
