The Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (BMC), within the framework of project No. 1.1.1.5/3/24/I/006 “Development of Latvia’s research potential by strengthening the integration of the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre into European infrastructures and scientific networks”, invites Latvian researchers to visit the laboratories and centres of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).
Researchers are invited to participate in on-site visits to one of the EMBL laboratories or centres, which may include:
- participation in EMBL training courses, providing access to high-level education;
- short-term visits to scientific groups at EMBL centres to engage in specific research activities;
- technological visits to EMBL infrastructure facilities to gain experience and skills in using advanced technologies and services.
Eligible applicants include researchers (scientific personnel) employed at Latvian scientific institutions, scientists (persons engaged in scientific activity who have obtained a doctoral degree) and professionals with an academic degree or higher education diploma involved in fundamental or applied research, as well as experimental development aimed at acquiring new knowledge, products, processes, methods, and systems.
A researcher from a Latvian scientific institution (hereinafter – the applicant) applies to a visit to EMBL (hereinafter – the application) in free form by e-mail to bmc@biomed.lu.lv or in paper form to the BMC Project and Development Department. The application should include the applicant’s name, position, represented institution, purpose of the visit, planned duration, estimated costs, and sources of funding, if part of the costs are planned to be covered by synergistic projects.
