
Artūrs Logins' guest lecture "The Esthetic, the Affective and the Unnecessary"

The Department of Philosophy and Ethics of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia (UL) invites interested parties to a guest lecture by Artūrs Logins, an assistant professor at Laval University (Canada) in the middle of summer – on July 17 – at 12:00.
The lecture will take place on the 1st floor of the UL Academic Center Nature House (Jelgavas iela 1) in auditorium 109 from 12:00 to 14:00. The lecture will be in Latvian.
The lecture will examine the current discussion in epistemology, or the philosophy of knowledge, about the differences in the views of various theories on the practices of cognition, including scientific cognition. These practices are based on certain norms that are not always easy to reconcile.
