
Demo Week Opening Seminar at AREI Urban Garden

We invite all interested parties to visit the roof and terrace garden to learn and participate in discussions about: • Current events and findings of the Roof2Fork study; • Various growing technologies in small areas (vertical growing solutions, growing in boxes, greenhouses, etc.); • Principles of sustainability in the creation and maintenance of urban gardens, including various automatic garden maintenance technologies; • Challenges in roof/balcony/terrace gardening and their possible solutions.
In addition, there will be an opportunity to draw inspiration from examples of roof gardens in Paris, where they are widely used not only to grow healthy food and improve the urban environment, but also to promote social sustainability.
The demo week will open with an informative seminar, which will take place on July 7. at 2:00 p.m
As part of the seminar, researchers from the Institute of Agroresources and Economics and the Institute of Horticulture will give presentations, and participants will have the opportunity to taste snacks from the harvest grown in the garden.
Meanwhile, the doors of the AREI urban garden will be open for individual visits throughout the week to get acquainted with the growing technologies in person and ask questions of interest.
Registration for a garden visit
Throughout the week, it will be possible to meet with urban garden creators and sustainability experts, while on July 9 and 11, during visits, it will be possible to meet with horticulture specialists, and on July 10, with an engineering expert.
