On November 22 of this year, the Faculty of Social Sciences of Rīga Stradiņš University will organize the first national scientific-practical law conference LEX SCRIPTA. The conference will take place in Riga, at Kuldīgas Street 9C, and will provide a great opportunity for legal experts, professionals, researchers, and students to gather for academic discussions and knowledge exchange.

November in Latvia is a month of national celebrations, highlighting the values of legal independence and freedom. The conference will feature distinguished experts in the field, such as Lauma Paegļkalna, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia, who will present a paper on promoting gender equality. Gunda Reire, Head of the President’s Chancery and an Associate Professor at RSU Faculty of Social Sciences, will speak on the importance of international legal order. Sandra Kaija, a Judge of the Supreme Court and Professor at RSU Faculty of Social Sciences, will address issues related to the enforcement of procedural costs in criminal proceedings. In addition to these speakers, many other highly qualified legal professionals will participate in the conference, sharing their experiences and research on various areas of law, offering valuable insights into the development of the legal system.

The conference will address a variety of current topics, including the promotion of gender equality, the importance of international legal order, challenges in medical regulation, and the use of copyright in education. The digital transformation will also be a key focus, with discussions on the employment of healthcare professionals on digital platforms and solutions for combating racist and xenophobic crimes online.

This conference will not only provide valuable academic insights but also promote discussions about the future development of Latvian law and its importance for societal well-being.

In addition to academic discussions, conference participants will have the opportunity to attend the book launch of Residential Lease Rights: From Theory to Practice by Dr. iur. Ivars Kroņs. The book presentation will be a significant event in the conference program, offering an in-depth look into this relevant area of law.

The RSU Faculty of Social Sciences invites all interested parties to take part in the event and share their experiences on the most pressing issues in legal sciences.
