On August 15, Bread Day will be held for the second year at the Food Institute of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU), Jelgava, Rīgas street 22A. Cooperation partners of LBTU food technologists - representatives of grain processing and bread production companies - industry experts and interested parties will gather in one place to discuss the current affairs of the industry and enrich themselves in educational classes.

Bread Day at 9:30 will start with a talk by Dace Kļava, associate professor of the LBTU Food Institute, about current scientific news in the grain processing industry, followed by a speech by Monta Strazdiņa, Quality Manager of A/S "Dobeles dzirnavnieks", about what the producer can expect from the new grain harvest.

From 12:00 p.m., entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to engage in educational activities under the guidance of professors of the Food Institute about the sensory evaluation of bread, the value of bread and its inclusion in the menu, as well as questions and challenges related to packaging. Everyone will be offered the opportunity to evaluate their bread samples.

At the end of the day, it is planned to introduce the activities of the EIT Food representative office in Latvia, as well as the offer of the LBTU Technology and Knowledge Transfer Department and Lifelong Learning Center.
