Open event “Living Green” for the 80th anniversary of the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia
About event
On Saturday, June 27, at 15:00, the event “Living Green” of the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia will take place in the University of Latvia Botanical Garden – a place where science, nature, culture, and society meet.
The year 2026 marks the 80th anniversary of the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia. We care not only about the continuity of the humanities, but also about the openness of science, the broadening of the horizons of public thought, and the enrichment of Latvia’s cultural space.
We invite you to engage in conversations with researchers of different generations, take part in co-creation activities, and enjoy a picnic in the University of Latvia Botanical Garden – a vibrant, diverse, conveniently and environmentally friendly accessible oasis, where from 15:00 to 20:00 in the Folklore Courtyard, the Literature Pavilion, and the Temple of Arts, workshops, knowledge games, activities, karaoke, poetry readings, and a program for families with children initiated by our researchers will await you.
The musical group “Rahu the Fool” will add to the enjoyment, and at the end of the evening – an open-air dance party together with Žoržs Siksna.
We look forward to being together in the University of Latvia Botanical Garden!
The event is part of the University of Latvia project “Aurora Nexus: connecting people, science and art”, whose aim is to strengthen science communication and promote public engagement in research by fostering dialogue between researchers, culture, and society. The project is implemented with co-funding from the European Commission programme “MSCA and Citizens”.
