The international scientific and applied research conference “Modern Security Challenges and Strategies for Their Prevention – Towards a Secure Society” is devoted to the analysis of contemporary security challenges, including military conflicts, terrorism, cybersecurity, hybrid threats, and risks to the information environment. The conference aims to bring together Latvian and international researchers, scholars, security policy experts, representatives of law enforcement institutions, and students to foster academically grounded dialogue on current global threats, examine their implications for regional and international security, and explore innovative, practical strategies for their prevention.
Participants are invited to submit paper proposals for the following thematic sessions:
- Military conflicts and hybrid threats in today’s (geopolitical) security environment
- Current trends in terrorism, extremism, and radicalism; threats, prevention and deterrence strategies
- Irregular migration and border security as transnational risks
- Transnational and organised crime as threats to regional and global security
- Trends, threats, and prevention strategies in information and cybersecurity
- Political security and domestic stability
- The role of law enforcement and security institutions in crisis management and threat prevention
- Resilient societies and security culture
