
Virtual Think Tank on Examples of Good Practice in the Creation of Scientific Publications

On June 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., the second session of the ACE²-EU Virtual Town Hall Meeting will take place on the Zoom platform, focusing on scientific publications published and coordinated by the universities of the European University Alliance ACE²-EU. The aim of the event is to provide an insight into the experiences of different countries, as well as to strengthen mutual understanding of scientific publications in the context of international cooperation.
Representatives from seven universities will participate in the session – Lithuanian College of Technology, Medical University of Gdańsk, Polytechnic Institute of Santarem, Constantin Brancusi University, Francisco De Vitória University, Latvian Academy of Culture and Goča Delčeva University. The think tank will present scientific publications published by the represented university, describing their structure, content directions and management models. The presentations will be supplemented by discussions and question sections, allowing for in-depth exploration of different approaches to the creation of scientific publications.
The think tank will be attended by:
Gitana Vyčienė (Lithuania), whose research topics include rainwater harvesting, the potential of small hydropower plants and soil moisture dynamics in the context of climate change.
Ilona Kunda (Latvia), Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Latvian Academy of Sciences’ scientific publication “Culture Crossroads”, Doctor of Sociology, who studies the specifics of employment in the creative industries.
Liljana Koleva Gudeva (North Macedonia), Professor in the field of biotechnology, whose research interests include somatic embryogenesis, plant physiology and biotechnological methods in the breeding of heat-resistant plants.
Ana Nikodinovska Krstevska (North Macedonia), Professor in the field of European Union Law and International Relations, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the University, whose research interests are related to EU migration and asylum policy, as well as regional legal issues.
Flavius Mărcău (Romania), researcher and editor-in-chief of the journal “Research and Science Today”, published twice a year and included in several international databases.
Rita Santos-Rocha (Portugal), co-editor of the scientific journal “International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health”, studies physical activity during pregnancy and the implementation of health technologies in this area.
Janusz Springer (Poland), paediatrician and neurologist, conducts research in both acute medicine and neurology, including pediatric epilepsy.
Isaac Caselles Jiménez (Spain), doctor of history and accounting, publishing professional – has worked in various Spanish publishing houses as both editor and director, and is now director of the Francisco De Vitoria University Press.
Students, researchers and academic staff interested in scientific publishing and who want to get an idea of the opportunities available within the alliance are invited to participate in the virtual think tank. This initiative was created in response to the expressed interest of the alliance's academic staff and researchers in scientific cooperation.
