The collaboration will focus on student and staff exchange, as well as joint research activities, with a special emphasis on academic fields such as management sciences, engineering, and physiotherapy.

Several goals have been set to implement the cooperation in areas of mutual interest. One of the key aims is to foster collaboration through experience exchange, involving both students and academic or administrative staff. Within the framework of the memorandum, both institutions have agreed to implement joint projects and study programmes in the focus areas, develop double-degree programmes, and support graduates in their career growth.

The universities have also agreed to attract external funding to support the areas covered by the memorandum and to advance educational, research, and development cooperation.

The memorandum has been concluded for a five-year period, with the possibility of extension. It entered into force upon signing in April 2025.

Up to now, Turība University has collaborated with Satakunta University of Applied Sciences within the framework of the NORDPLUS project, jointly implementing an intensive course titled "Sustainable Thinking in Business" in the summer of 2024. As part of this course, both students and lecturers from the Finnish university visited Turība University for two weeks to exchange experiences.
During the course, students participated in lectures, practical workshops, discussions with industry professionals and experts, and took part in study visits. Lecturers from all three participating countries were involved. This course provided an excellent opportunity for both students and academic staff from Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland to study and work in an international environment.
