In December 2025, the digital humanities (DH) research project “Towards Development of Open and FAIR Digital Humanities Ecosystem in Latvia” (DHELI) was successfully completed in the framework of the National Research Programme “Digital Humanities”. To share the project’s outcomes with the wider international DH community, the project coordinator and CLARIN-LV consortium partner - the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia - prepared a concise overview of the project’s key results for publication in the January issue of CLARIN ERIC’s monthly newsletter CLARIN Newsflash.

The DHELI project not only advanced digital humanities research and education in Latvia, but also made a substantial contribution to the enrichment of the CLARIN-LV repository. During the project, more than 20 datasets were registered and/or added – including versions of Tēzaurs.lv (3-4 times a year, more than 10 versions), Latgalian Tezaurs, Corpus of Contemporary Latgalian Speech, Latvian word frequency dataset, Corpus of Latvian Early Novels, Latvian Treebank (6 versions), updated version of the Corpus of Early Written Latvian and others.
