The international INNOVATE-EU acceleration program has been launched to reduce the innovation gap between leading and less-developed regions in Europe. The INNOVATE-EU program supports deep-tech startups in the fields of green technologies, agri-food, ICT, and medical technologies, fostering their growth and providing access to Europe’s innovation ecosystem.

What is INNOVATE-EU?

INNOVATE-EU is a two-year EU-funded initiative that brings together eight partners from five countries - Germany, Romania, Spain, Latvia, and Lithuania - to strengthen regional innovation capacity and build a pan-European startup support community.

About the Program

From October to December 2025, with a second round in 2026, INNOVATE-EU will provide specialised training modules and startup growth activities:

The training modules are tailored to specific sectors and regions, combining online and in-person formats with the possibility of travel expense reimbursement.

Who Can Apply?

Startups and rapidly growing companies (scaleups) in the following sectors:

  • Greentech
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Agri-Food
  • Health / Medical Technologies (Medtech)

Priority is given to applicants from Latvia, Lithuania, northeastern Romania, Spain (Aragon), and Germany (Baden-Württemberg), though applications from all EU regions are welcome.

Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. Each module has its application link and deadline; therefore, early submission is recommended.

Why is this Important?

Europe’s innovation landscape is fragmented, and startups in less-developed regions often lack adequate support. The INNOVATE-EU acceleration program addresses this challenge by providing:

  • Cross-border networking opportunities
  • Practical support and training
  • Access to investors and pilot customers
  • The creation of an inclusive European startup community
