The application consists of a public section, which must include the title of the work, the name of the institution, and a description of the achievement. This description should be written in a way that is understandable to a broader audience and not exceed 800 characters. The non-public section of the application may be presented as a brief annotation with additional information about the content of the work and its reflection in scientific literature, patents, monographs, and other sources.

Applications must be sent to the email address: sasniegumi@lza.lv  by 5 December 2025, 17:00.

All submitted applications will be evaluated by the end of December. The list of the most significant scientific achievements of the year will be approved and announced by the LAS Praesidium.

The annual competition “The Most Significant Achievements in Science” is organised by the Latvian Academy of Sciences to recognise national scientific excellence and to promote the visibility of Latvian researchers. The results of the competition since 2002 can be found in the “Scientific Achievement Competition” section on the LAS website. The competition regulations can be viewed here.
