The travelling exhibition "Research Latvia 2025", created by the Ministry of Education and Science, offers a unique opportunity to get to know 12 outstanding Latvian scientists and their contribution to the development of society and research. From July 1 to 27, this diverse exhibition can be viewed in both the capital and the region, at the Art Academy of Latvia (AAL), Kalpaka Boulevard 13, Rīga, and the Talsi Main Library (TGB), Brīvības Street 17A, Talsi.
Twelve scientific excellences, representing 12 leading Latvian scientific institutions, demonstrate the strength and diversity of Latvian science in the European Research Area. In cooperation with the science communication platform researchLatvia, the calendar and exhibition "Research Latvia 2025" reflect the issues studied by Latvian scientists that impact our society, environment, and culture. In July, the Art Academy of Latvia contribution to research and its role in the development of science are particularly highlighted, especially its contributions to the development of internationally competitive research.

Every future researcher continues this work, creating a legacy and thus helping to shape a knowledge society in Latvia," emphasises Art. D. Ansis Rozentāls, AAL assistant professor, IT specialist, painter.
TGB Director Rita Alkšbirze emphasises that nowadays libraries play a crucial role in promoting the visibility of science and ensuring accessibility, thereby fostering the exchange of knowledge and educating the public.
"The exhibition "Research Latvia 2025" offers every resident and guest of the Talsi region an opportunity to learn about 12 outstanding Latvian personalities in science at the library. Libraries serve as a bridge between science and society, making complex ideas understandable and accessible to everyone. Popularising Latvian science in the regions, including Talsi, is essential for Latvian scientists to become visible outside of large cities, so that their work reaches readers of different generations and inspires both young people and adults. The Talsi Main Library in the Talsi region is the place to see this offer presented through an exhibition. "
Each of the scientists represents their unique field of research, including choreomusicology, national defense and security, pharmacogenetics, protection of rare and protected species, reduction of overgrowth of water bodies, research on comets and their activity, art history, imitative modeling, the internal logic of modern society from a philosophical perspective, culture, as well as bookmaking, library science, and the history of the written word.
The travelling exhibition will be on display throughout the year at various higher education institutions, as well as other public and cultural venues throughout Latvia. By scanning the QR codes, anyone interested can watch all 12 video stories. This initiative not only promotes the visibility of science, but also strengthens the public's connection with science.
